What is the service fee added to my check?

A 20% service fee is added to every check and will be used to compensate our hardworking team. Any gratuity you choose to leave will go directly to the staff, both front and back of house. We are committed to providing a stable and equitable pay structure, and we appreciate your support!

P.S. Yes, it is taxed. The government requires it to be that way!

What is your reservation policy?

We offer reservations for parties of two (2) to eight (8) people.

For all reservations, we are able to hold your reservation for up to 15 minutes after your reservation time. Due to our limited space, we are unable to guarantee your reservation after 15 minutes. If you are running late, please reply to your confirmation text and let us know when you expect to arrive. Parties must be complete in order to be seated.

We offer reservations for our indoor dining room, train car, & private patio. All reservations may be cancelled 24 hrs in advance. After that, you will be subject to a $40 per person cancellation fee for La Cabaña or a $10 per person cancellation fee for all other reservations

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, whenever tables are available we will offer walk ins. These tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don’t have a reservation try and walk in on the earlier side of the evening.

If you arrive at Compass Rose and we are unable guarantee a table, we will add your name to our waiting list. We’ll text you if a table becomes available, and you’ll have 10 minutes to get back to us.

Can I bring my own wine or birthday cake??

While we encourage guests to enjoy our offerings - if you would like to bring your own, we charge a corkage of $25 per 750mL (2 bottle maximum) of wine and a cake-cutting fee of $2.50 per person.

Is it possible to eat dinner at the bar?

Our bar is first come first serve and we do offer our full menu.

Does Compass Rose host events?

We would love to host your special event at Compass Rose! Please submit your booking inquiry on the "‘Events” page of our website.

Can Compass Rose accommodate dietary restrictions?


Yes! We are able to accommodate dietary restrictions. Please reach out to gather@compassrosedc.com, and we’ll be more than happy to guide you through the menu.

Please note: We do not offer gluten-free bread.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! You may purchase gift certificates on our website or in person at Compass Rose.

What happens in the case of inclement weather?

Our patio spaces are all covered and heated, and we do continue service in the cold and rain. That being said, sometimes the weather is not on our side. In the case of severe weather, we will reach out to all reservations to confirm or help you to reschedule.

Is the dining room wheelchair accessible?

Due to the historic nature of our building, the dining room is only accessible by stairs, and we do not have an elevator. Our patio can accommodate wheelchair access. We make every effort to accommodate accessibility requests—please email us at Gather@compassrosedc.com with any requests or questions.
